In 2013, the Museum of Fine Arts in Leipzig curated a group show entitled “The Beauty and the Beast”, featuring selected works from Mel Ramos, Richard Müller and Wolfgang Joop. The title refers to the artists’s representations of nude women and animals, including Joop’s most recent oeuvre, a series of monkey images.

In the context of the 54th Biennale di Venezia in 2011, the Ludwig Museum presented an overview of Wolfgang Joop’s artistic work at Palazzo Bembo. The exhibition combined sculptures and two dimensional wall objects in a wide range of materials including marble, batiste, fabrics, paper and jewels. A majority of the worlds were made specifically for the show, along with other selected works from 2003 and 2006.
